Designed and manufactured in Australia, Airtec's SmartOBM Truck and Trailer Scales deliver precise On-Board Mass (OBM) measurement for trucks and trailers equipped with airbag suspension. Whether you need a single AXS Sensor or a complete package with an optional mounting bracket pack, Airtec provides a smart, scalable solution designed for the Australian market.
At just 80mm in diameter—smaller than a coffee cup—the AXS Sensor is compact, and easy to install on any truck configuration. Built to IP66 standards, it’s engineered to withstand the toughest Australian outback conditions, ensuring long-lasting durability.
Powered by the latest Bluetooth-Mesh technology, the AXS Sensor offers:
- Extended range for fewer dropouts
- Auto-scanning for seamless connectivity
- Over-the-air firmware updates for continuous improvements
System Overview
The AXS, AXR, and TruckOBM mobile application are designed to work seamlessly together, enabling effortless integration in just three simple steps.
1.
The AXS is installed and calibrated on a trailer or dolly, transmitting weight data wirelessly via Bluetooth connectivity.
2.
The AXS is installed and calibrated on a truck or prime mover, with the SCAN function enabling seamless connection between the truck and trailer units to send and receive axle group weight data.
3.
The AXR Remote Display is installed in the vehicle and wirelessly connected to the AXS via Bluetooth. The TruckOBM App, used on a mobile phone or tablet, provides real-time weight data.
- The AXS is installed and calibrated on a trailer or dolly, transmitting weight data wirelessly via Bluetooth connectivity.

Note: The above scenario is typical of an A Double Combination. For other combinations you may require a different number of scales. For regulatory compliance SmartOBM systems must be installed by an authorised person and in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer’s specifications. All scales must be powered by a fused 12-24 Volt power source and activated when the ignition status is ‘on’.
